Are you looking for fun end of the year activities for 5th grade? Here are my top 3 end of the year ideas to keep students busy and learning that last week of school.
1. Memory Book
For $5 on TPT, I purchased more memory book pages than I need. I sent pictures I took throughout the year to Walgreens and students use the pictures to personalize their memory book. I use a comb binder to bind the books. Click here to see this resource on TPT. Making a memory book is great especially for students who don't purchase a year book. No computer needed so students can keep working when the computers have been turned in.
2. Revolutionary War Comic Strip Timeline
This activity is great for any time you are studying the American Revolution or as an end of the year wrap up. I purchased a set of timeline posters on TPT. Click here to see this $3 set of posters. I found a free set of comic strip templates here. I printed the two options with six boxes each. Students can use the posters that are up around as a timeline to choose which events they want to include in their comic strip timeline. Students can be fun, artistic, and creative while showing what they learned. No computers needed!
3. Practice States and Capitals
Seterra is a free site where you can make a link to the states and capitals you want students to practice online. At the top, in blue, it says "Create Your Own Custom Quiz." I love this feature so we can focus on a handful of states or capitals and work our way up to all of them. I like to play Beat the Teacher. I have students see if they can match or beat my time for a small reward. Kids sure love to beat the teacher!Enjoy the end of the school year with these simple activities to keep kids busy and having fun!
